Easy to use, worked well

I needed to access my work computer from home, so I got AnyDesk for Windows. It was pretty easy to install and get going. I mainly used it for file transfer and just checking emails, and it handled that fine. No real complaints, it just worked like it should.

Good for remote work, minor issues

I purchased an AnyDesk Solo license for my home office setup. The remote access part works quite well, and I found the connection speeds to be reliable even over my somewhat spotty home internet. I liked the annual billing option, it saved me a bit. However, setting up the unattended access was a little more fiddly than I expected from the instructions. It took a few tries to get it right. Overall, it's a solid tool, but could use clearer setup guides for new users.

Smooth remote sessions

I opted for the AnyDesk Standard plan after trying the free version for a bit. The setup process for both Windows and macOS clients was straightforward; I just downloaded it from their site. I specifically appreciated the 'Client personnalisé' feature, which let me brand the remote access tool for my small business's internal use. I primarily used it for online collaboration with my team and providing remote assistance to a few clients. The session recording came in handy for training purposes. Connection quality was consistently good, even when sharing screens with multiple participants. The only slight drawback was that their customer support response time was a bit slow when I had a question about the API integration, but it wasn't a critical issue for me at the time.

Is the free version of AnyDesk actually free for real? Or is it like, free for a week and then you gotta pay up?

G Greg Osei 2 months ago
Yeah, it's genuinely free for personal use. I've been using it for ages to help my parents with their computer issues and never paid a dime.

It's free for non-commercial stuff. If you try to use it for work they'll usually prompt you to upgrade pretty quick. But for home use, you're good.

Thinking of getting AnyDesk Standard. How does it compare to TeamViewer? I've used TeamViewer before but it's getting kinda pricey.

G Greg 3 months ago
I switched from TeamViewer to AnyDesk a while back and honestly, AnyDesk feels faster. Especially for file transfers. TeamViewer always felt a bit clunky to me.

Both are solid, but AnyDesk tends to be lighter on resources and usually has better pricing for similar features, especially if you go for the annual billing. I'd say try the free trial for AnyDesk and see how you like it.

What's the main difference between Solo and Standard? I just need to access my work PC from home.

P Phil Y. 2 months ago
Solo is pretty basic, like one concurrent connection. Standard lets you have more active sessions and maybe a few extra features like custom clients. If it's just you to your work PC, Solo might be enough, but check the feature comparison.

Solo is mainly for one-to-one connections. If you need to manage multiple remote devices or have a small team, Standard usually has more features like more concurrent sessions and device management stuff. It's worth looking at their site for the exact breakdown based on what you need.

Are there ever any good deals on the professional licenses? Like for Black Friday or something?

B Brett 2 months ago
For sure! They usually have pretty decent discounts around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Keep an eye out then.

I snagged a good deal on an annual plan during the end-of-fiscal-year push once. They definitely run promos, especially for those bigger holiday periods or end of year.
